The Haiti Project is a "sponsored, collaborative ministry of the Salvatorian Family, USA." As a collaborative ministry, it involves in some way, all three branches of the Salvatorian Family.

Our primary mission is developing opportunities for peasant Haitians through agriculture and education.

The Haiti Project is administrated by Lay Salvatorians, Bob, and Denise Snyder SDS, with a host of devoted people.

Extreme gang violence prevents traveling to Haiti. So, like so many Americans, the Snyders learned to work from home. The Haiti Project has full-time Haitian staff to oversee the Fr Jim Bretl Agriculture Center and has working relationships with many Haitians to assist with other needs. The Hait Project supports promising students with school scholarships for 7th grade and beyond. We continue to raise money for the school lunch programs to supplement the twin parishes' support and collaborate with these US churches to fund the schools. The Haiti Project has safe ways to distribute money and a system of accountability to ensure that it is being used as intended.

A note from Bob and Denise Snyder SDS

Greetings!

Welcome to our new website, with much thanks to our developer Stephen Davis at summitsweb.com. Our website email was hacked several years ago and it has been mostly dormant since then. As a result, our communications have been limited and it has been difficult to navigate fundraising. The pandemic prevented us from visiting the churches we have traditionally depended on for support, and our funding has been dwindling.

As our funding has dropped, we have been helping to strengthen the ties between the Parish of Riviere Mancelle and her twin parish the, St Thomas Aquinas Church in Cookeville TN. We’ve also worked to establish a Parish Twinning of the Americas relationship between Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and St Francis Cabrini Church in Lebanon, TN.

These parish-twinning relationships have allowed us to step back from the schools and focus on our primary mission of developing opportunities for peasant Haitians through agriculture and education. We continue to raise money to feed the children because it is so important and we have relationships with many generous donors who want to maintain their support via the Haiti Project.

To learn more about our projects, please check out our projects below.

Thank you all for your prayers and generous support,

Bob and Denise Snyder SDS
